That's a good sign though - your waist will want to stick around or make a reappearance when the baby is born too. I love my waist, it's the baby hips I could do without!
Yeah, I'm a little scared of that I have to say. My pelvis has spread SO MUCH! It's obviously the reason it took me so long to pop out, but I am NEVER going to be able to wear my pants again if that's the case... because I doubt that my pelvis is going to go BACK!
I'm pretty sure it doesn't go back. I've heard of people going to extremes and wearing tight hip girdles right after birth so that the hips can be pushed back while still hormonally soft. I always thought that was nuts and have no idea if it works anyway.
Belts have become my jeans' new best friend. I have to buy my jeans a size bigger to accomodate my hips [i don't do skin tight pants] than what my waist needs. If you're not already, you'll be a fan of 'boy cut' or 'low rise' jeans. They fit for the hip to waist ratio much better. [plus for me, after being pregnant, I can't STAND my jeans fitting anywhere near my belly button, they must be much lower]
Wider hips & stretch marks, are the mama badges we wear proudly though.
Most of my pants are low-rise anyway, so maybe I will be spared. *phew* I had bought all new pants right before I got knocked up because I lost 30lbs. I don't want to go back to the "fat pants"! I don't like wearing clothes around my waist/belly button either, actually.
I send the non-fat-pants fairy your way! I wish these things were predictable so we knew what to expect afterwards. I was less impressed the boobs I actually had during pregnancy and nursing and how quickly they returned to their state of nothingness afterwards. I'm not a boob kind of gal, I have what I have [or don't have] but I do like a little curve with certain clothes. It was nice while it lasted. Now I'm all false advertising - padded push-ups are a mom's best friend! ;)
Now see, the Boob Fairy hasn't visited me at all yet (but I suppose we will see when my milk comes in) so maybe the Fat Pants Fairy will stay away as well. :) I'm not a huge fan of boobage for myself so I am not at all disappointed, although I keep waiting for them to pop or whatever. We'll see what happens.
I can't imagine I will be much into false advertising... I'm more of a sports bra or shelf-tank kind of person. :)
heh, I guess my pelvic bones have decided they can't spread any further. THANK GOODNESS, because OMG I have so much more hippage than I did before! *weeps*
