I [heart] Freecycle!

For the last several months, I have been a Freecycling fool, snapping up almost any baby-related items that I thought we might have some use for. I mean, we've amassed quite a collection.
The fun thing about Freecycle is that you end up with a lot of stuff that you DON'T want. You go to pick up some, say, safety supplies and you end up with a stuffed animal. Or you pick up a "bag of baby items" and there is invariably a pair of pants in there that is, umm, not your taste.
Now I get to re-Freecycle it! I just passed off a bag of miscellaneous baby items and a crib bumper that I ended up with that we've decided not to use (we want a breathable one instead if we use one), and I've got a few more things up that are looking for homes (including our on-again, off-again humidifier). It's fun to put the stuff out on the stoop and know that someone is going to use it. (I know I've used most of the stuff that *I* picked up on stoops!)
Freecycle appeals to me on so many levels: it's free, it's fun, and it involves getting rid of clutter! Yay!

Date: 2007-04-02 02:55 pm (UTC)I have used Freecycle a few times, and offered once (but wasn't taken up on it), but I sort of drifted away when I realized it made me feel sort of nervous...

Date: 2007-04-03 08:34 pm (UTC)I never remember the e-mail addresses of the people whose houses I go to for making pickups, and I doubt most people remember mine, either.
I just don't even worry about it.
