Long time

So I almost never post anymore. The truth is that my life is incredibly busy and also incredibly boring.

I have had this LJ for 10 years now. It was 10 years in June, I think. Maybe July? Summer, anyway. 10 years. In the beginning I had a lot to say about a lot of things. Now I don't sleep, run around like an idiot all day, and collapse in an exhausted heap while making lists of chores. And you know, I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe the sleep.

Next month my little BOGO baby will be one. ONE! Time sure does fly when you post once every two months.

Oh, and I started another little blog project. If you're on FaceBook you probably already know about it. If not (THAT MEANS YOU, [livejournal.com profile] auntiesiannan!!), let me know if you want the deets.

The world of attachment parenting on LJ

I am always amused by "all or nothing" ideals, especially about parenting which is NEVER all or nothing. And I am endlessly amused by the "attachment parenting" community on LJ.

Did you know that you can't really be an attached parent if you don't breastfeed? And that an attached parent always keeps the baby in the sling instead of the baby bucket?

I'd love to see one of these "attached parent gurus" pull the newborn baby out of the bucket which is in the warm car, shove him in a sling, walk him up to the preschool for the 5 minute preschool drop-off/pick-up, then cram him BACK into the bucket for the drive home, instead of leaving him sleeping inside his warm little bucket and putting him back without him even knowing he was in a preschool.

But what do I know? My kid drinks out of a bottle so we're not bonded anyway.

LJ Backup

I can't decide if I want to try to download my LJ or just let it disappear. I tried to download everything through Xjournal but for whatever reason it says my "older entries aren't formatted correctly" or something like that, so it won't do it. Grrr.

Almost 8 years. Do I bother trying to find a way to keep it? Should I find a PC to use LJarchive? Should I just let it blissfully drift away?

Decisions. Thoughts?

Entering the high-tech world a little later than never

I'm typing this entry from bed, with Ralph happily laying across my feet. I guess I get it now why people like this whole wireless thing. It's pretty neat.

What's not neat is having to recreate all of my bookmarks, download all of my applications, and burn and port over all of my music/pictures/whatever. Oh well, I guess I have a project for the next century.

But my Jennifer is the bestest ever ever ever for agreeing to pay the extra money so that I could get out of Windows hell! It's so nice.

Yesterday was a trip to the mall followed by an impromptu dinner at Coworker Gina's house. Good times, except that I couldn't stop yawning and they kept offering me coffee and stuff. I dig me some Coworker Gina.
