[livejournal.com profile] hope_persists came over last night, with [livejournal.com profile] buddhafly4224 and their friend, Clara. Jessica brought over some maternity clothes that belong to a friend of hers who had a baby about a year ago. Not only does she seem to be the same size as me, she also seems to have spent at least some of her growing stages in the winter - so now there are a lot of jeans, pants, sweaters, and a vest. (We don't need to talk about the velour track suit. I don't know wtf is up with that. It's pimptacular!) [livejournal.com profile] laserkitty sent a lot of stuff, too, but a lot of the stuff is late spring/summer weight so I will have to wait to let it come in handy. I mean, it's 40° these days but that's hardly tshirt weather... and spring around here can easily stay away until May if it's feeling ornery.

So now I have this pile of clothes on my bed and it's like having REAL choices! Of course I don't have anywhere to put them in my dresser/closet so maybe I need to temporarily move things around so I can pretend all of this stuff is actually mine. We'll have to see.

I still don't have [livejournal.com profile] thatpatti's box that left the nearest "big" town 20 minutes away on FEBRUARY 22ND. The post office tells me that I can put in a complaint today, and you can bet I will. However, they previously told me I could complain on the 5th and when I called, they said, "No, the 12th." So who knows what they will say today. So frustrating. I don't know why they refuse to acknowledge that they lost this package, and even though Patti says it's no big deal, I feel guilty that all of her clothes are missing.

I got home from work tonight and was So! Excited! to see a big box on my front steps. I think I even exclaimed aloud, "My package!" It was even wrapped in a plastic bag so it wouldn't get snowy. I was so relieved to know that [livejournal.com profile] thatpatti's stuff didn't get lost and everything was going to be okay. So I ran up to the front steps and opened the door, and dragged the big box into the house...

...and it was from [livejournal.com profile] laserkitty. HER maternity clothes, also shipped parcel post but quite a bit (over a week) later, have graced my front porch.

Thanks, Nikki! But I'm sorry, Patti! I will call the post office AGAIN. Argh! Stupid postal service.
