And I should say that personally, I do believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Just in case y'all think he's a friend to the gays.

Date: 2008-02-05 10:56 pm (UTC)I don't think I'm ever going to find a candidate, ANY candidate, whose beliefs and ideals exactly match mine. I have to try to choose who will do the best on behalf of EVERYONE, or at the very least, the less harm (like 4 years ago).
I'm sorry that this is still an issue for anyone...you should be able to marry who you love without the government playing Tetris with your genitals. Period.

Date: 2008-02-06 02:46 pm (UTC)Thanks.
I just don't understand the thinking behind it. I just don't. It boggles my mind. My state was one of the first to pass the in defense of marriage bullshit, and it has never ever made sense to me. My hetero marriage doesn't threaten a gay marriage and vice versa....It's not like us straight people have been so great to the name of marriage. I've 29 and have been married 3 times (third time's the charm! weeeeeeeeee!), and never once in a church. I don't think it matters what the fuck you call it, but if two people who love each other can't join in a legal union, no matter what the name, then there is something just simply fucked in this society.
I love this country. I'm patriotic as hell, I cry during the national anthem, my husband serves in the Navy and will spend most of his life doing so, but this....this just revolts me. It's a fucking embarrassment.
