Ass

A while ago I bought this cereal at Trader Joe's called "More and Less" that is supposed to be better for you because it is high in fiber and protein and lower in carbs. Whatever, it was apple cinnamon flavored and had dried apples in it, so I figured it would be good.

I was wrong. It tastes like ass.

It tastes like SO MUCH ass, that even though I only had 1/3 bowl of it (the other 2/3 are what's left of the apple cinnamon cheerio knock-offs from TJ's), AND I put an entire delicious perfectly-ripe-as-much-as-I-like-it banana on top, AND used enough milk to make it sufficiently soggy, it STILL tastes like total ass. It spoiled the milk. It spoiled the cheerios. And it is even spoiling the delicious banana goodness.

Sad.

Uh... true!

Fortunately, Joe's has a policy that you can take stuff back that you don't like. That's what I did when I tried "More and Less".

I already took the box apart and put it in the recycling... would I have to reassemble the whole thing? 'Cause if that's the case, it's not worth the $2.

You should have warned me ahead of time! YUCK!!

I don't know. Probably they wouldn't care if the box is flattened and the breakfast food product is dumped in a spare grocery bag; it's not like they can re-sell it. You could always call and ask.

Sorry I didn't warn you. I don't normally think about posting "breakfast tasted like ass" to my journal. Maybe that's why I'm not a rock star like you. :)

I'm an ex-rock star. A total has-been.

But now I have new cereal!

I would, however, highly recommend TJ's Organic Morning Lite. Delicious!

Yeah, that one IS good.

We were at Shaw's today, so I bought store-brand crispix. Mm.

Lower in carbs? You're not falling for the great Atkins swindle, are you?

Dear gods no.

I've just been encouraged to lower my carb intake with the medicine I'm taking. (Since it's also a Type II Diabetes drug, it affects how your bodt digests carbs/sugars and can give you gastric issues.) And since i LOVES me some carbs, I figured I might as well give it a LITTLE bit of a shot. (And continue eating cake and candy. Heh.)

TJ's is *so* hit and miss. The good stuff is GREAT. The bad stuff is ASS. Do they have an LJ TJ's community where people can share reviews?

Oh, and 3 Buck Chuck rawks!

I'm a fan of the chuck. I haven't been drinking much in the past couple of months but I could go for some chuck. Mmm.

I actually haven't had too many things there that are assy. Then again, I tend to stick to the same stuff.

I like Kashi. I have Go-Lean Crunch in the house already, but I like having cereal options. I've never tried Barbara's. I actually only eat breakfast at home about once a week. I don't have much time.
