I'm still afraid to lift up that cookbook.

One of my big pet peeves is when a director sticks a love scene in the middle of a perfectly good action movie or drama. It's like everything going on is either POWPOWPOW or cerebral, and then BAM! There's a guy and a girl having sex. I never really understood the point of love scenes, unless it was a romance movie or whatever, and even then, I usually got squirmy.

I realized last night while watching High Art at Mel's (it had been a while, and I don't think she'd ever seen it) that girl-girl love scenes give me this weird squishy feeling under my stomach. It doesn't seem out of place. I don't get squirmy.

Is that what girl-guy love scenes are like for other people?

-got a call about a job but I was in a store and now forget the name of the place (but it was a nursing home and I really want to avoid nursing homes)
-ran into Patience and Erica
-ate sushi in the park and went to Coffee Table with doulamel
-ran into Melissa-the-coffee-shop-grrl
-cleared out LJ comments
-laughed at psychostalker
-did dishes
-made a list of things to do tomorrow

Tomorrow:
1. check on Steve's cats
2. bring book back to library
3. send resume to homeless organization
4. clean cat boxes and take out garbage
5. call unemployment
6. find the name of the nursing home and call
7. write letter to Jeff
8. return emails
9. help Mel build furniture
10. go to Shakespeare in the Park
11. go to Goldmember
12. pass out
