1. We've chosen a new sperm bank (Xytex) and our top three donors. I need to call them tomorrow morning and see if it's possible to get all of the paperwork done (by the doctor) and sperm ordered and delivered before my next IUI. Which could be soon. So it's very possible that we missed the boat on switching this month, and I /really/ hope that's not the case. I just couldn't nail Jen down to go over stuff.

2. The new sperm bank guarantees 30 million motile sperm per ml. That is SO much better than the 6mil/60% we've been getting from our current dude.

3. I got my new tshirt that I ordered for Pride on Saturday. It's this one, with red. It's fun! I love modeling Stacy's tshirts!

4. I got home from the grandparents' and went on a whirlwind housecleaning spree. With Jen being sick, there was just... stuff... all over the house. Now it's all gone, the last of the laundry is in the dryer, the dishwasher has been run, and we're ready to start another work week. Jen is home sick tomorrow and Tuesday so hopefully it won't get trashed again.

5. Tomorrow - long day. 8:30am ultrasound and blood work. 9-12 training. 1-3 assessment. 3-5 assessment. 6:30 book club meeting.

6. Book Club read The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night Time. Has anyone read it? What did you think?

So I have to go back to work tomorrow, and actually have an 8am home visit scheduled (was I nuts?). We're supposed to get some sort of snowstorm tomorrow but I'm not sure if it's supposed to start early in the morning or what. Maybe the public schools will cancel and then my playgroup will be cancelled. That would ease me back into working, maybe.

I have to babysit tonight, and I need to stop in at the office to pick up some stuff. I'm also supposed to finish the laundry and take the ornaments off the tree. And address all the thank-you cards. I guess this isn't much of a day off after all, although I /am/ still in my pajamas and watching game shows with Daedalus.

I guess I should get started on all that stuff.

Resolutions for 2006:
  • Better self care: Gym, less obligations, call therapist.

  • Fertility clinic to find out baby possibilities and overall health.

  • Finish Dad's stuff, clean house, sell house.

  • Relocate to western Mass, become homeowners!

  • Have one of us be pregnant before the end of the year.

  • See friends more.

That should be enough.

Well, I now have one of the cleanest houses ever. I was a machine today, managing all of the following: hanging the holiday cards, sweeping and mopping the kitchen and bathroom floors, sweeping the other floors, cleaning the kitchen counters, doing the dishes, putting the dishes away, doing the laundry, changing the sheets in the guest room, running to the store for more cat litter, cleaning the cat boxes, moving the stuff we brought back from RI, cleaning out the fridge, and probably some other things I've forgotten. I've run out of steam so I probably won't get to the bathroom sink/mirror but oh well, I'm over it.

After dinner and presents, we still have to pack for the trip but it will be fun to put things like bathing suits and tshirts in a suitcase instead of sweaters and winter hats! And maybe some new holiday stuff.

I hope my Jennifer likes all of the things that Santa Claws brought for her! I am such a sucker when it comes to giving gifts - I just like it so much.

I hope everyone on my FL had a merry solstice, has a happy festivus, a merry christmas, a happy hanukkah, a happy new year, and that eid and kwanzaa and every other holiday also brought lots of joy to your heart.

xoxo

There's something therapeutic about laundry. I don't know what it is, if it's something as simple as clean, crisp items coming out of a warm dryer or what. All I know is that there are three deliciously clean loads of laundry neatly folded on our kitchen table and it gives me some sort of peace. (Of course, I would have more peace if it moved itself into drawers and closets, but hey, small steps.)

I also started the mammoth task of burning picture/data/music files onto CD from Turd Ferguson (my old computer) so I can bring them over to the new one. I've also started stripping the computer of random files and programs in the event that we give away/donate the machine somewhere. When I can get the beast off of my desk, life will be even better. Clutter, how you mock me so!

Soon I will be able to listen to 40 kabillion Fifteen mp3s. Good times!

Our house is getting so clean, Clean, CLEAN! And I love it, Love It, LOVE IT!

Jennifer is currently dry-mopping/vacuuming the 929437902791 tons of cat hair around this place, and she did the futon, too! And I cleaned the bathroom and the laundry is going and the dishes are (mostly) done and the table is brand-new-clean. The windows are all open and the weather is gorgeous, and soon the furniture will be dusted and the kitchen/bathroom floors washed. It is going to be beautiful in here!

Really, there are few things I like more than a freshly cleaned house. I'm sure this makes me some kind of OCD wacko, but I totally don't care!
